This Summer, diners at Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen can dine in their new Allotment. This pop-up space within the restaurant is filled with herbs, fruit trees and picnic benches, a shed photo-booth and even a greenhouse-inspired private dining area.

Guests can dine from a specially created menu using fresh ingredients from the allotment including dishes such as botanical rubbed ham, chilled pea and mint soup, and blueberry, coriander seed and Bombay Sapphire cured salmon

What’s on the menu? 

We dined in the gorgeous little greenhouse from the private dining menu which is inspired entirely by the seemingly humble tomato. Aside from the gorgeous interiors of the mini greenhouse, its most impressive factor is the bespoke service from your very own chef, who personally delivers the food to you.

We started with their refreshing signature cocktail the King of Herbs, made with Bacardi, lemon, basil, honey, and soda. We also had wine to compliment each of our courses which was hand selected by the restaurant's in-house sommelier, who expertly introduced each wine to us.

Our first course was a cooling green tomato gazpacho, gin and tonic granita and compressed cucumber. This was followed by a delicious tomato tartare with 12 year old balsamic and baby gem which was constructed on my table by the chef himself!

We then tried the Bombay Sapphire cured salmon which, as a seafood fan was one of my favourites, which was then followed by our main course of fillet steak with Bloody Mary spiced choron.

By this point we were quite stuffed but there was only one course left to go - dessert! Our dessert was a decadent chocolate mousse served in a plant pot and decorated with edible flowers and a mini spade - the perfect end to an allotment themed meal!

Could I Afford Seconds?

The private dining menu costs £65 per person and this includes the unique experience of dining in their wonderfully quirky and vibrant mini greenhouse, with a personal chef guiding you through the six course menu. This high level of personalised service is well worth the price I’d say!

Overall? 

Dining in a garden shed was an amazing experience, as was the personalised service you receive as part of the experience. As well as this, the Allotment space in the restaurant is also a great spot to enjoy the British Summer in a garden-themed indoor space!
