Foodie Festival: Christmas 2015
Foodies Festival Christmas in London at the Truman Brewery in trendy Shoreditch was quite a treat! With foodie stalls, tastings and master classes from celebrity chefs such as recent Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, there was lots to see, do and share!
Foodies Festival has a slightly more chilled atmosphere than Taste of London which I attended the week before. It's spacious and there is a lot more to explore around every corner, including fun stuff for the kids so don't be mistaken for thinking it is limited to the first room alone.
Think of your favourite Christmas market, make it bigger and place it indoors and you'll finish with something like the Foodies Festival. There are samples of everything from sausages, curries, cider, a plethora of artisan baked goods and so much more with friendly vendors. And if you really want to get in the mood, there is Christmas pudding and eggnog in the Pudding Hall, and there is even a champagne ski lounge for those of you who wish to enjoy your tipple in style.
I was also impressed with the amount of dairy and gluten free options, allowing everyone to join in on in the festive fun. I certainly went home with treats for all the family. My only advice would be to carry a bag for life as my paper bag split on the way home (fear not, no food was harmed).
All in all, the Foodies Festival is good fun and with a family appeal and it definitely keeps the foodie at its heart!
