London is full of beautiful restaurant made just for the occasion, but I’ve whittled them down to my favourite five restaurants in London perfect for romantic Valentine’s Day meal!

1. The luxurious one - The Ivy in the Park, Canary Wharf

If you’re a fan of the original one you’ll fall in love with the newly opened sister restaurant of The Ivy, located right in the heart of Canary Wharf. The food is exquisite and the gorgeous floral and rainforest decor will be sure to impress your date.

I recommend trying the incredible Crispy Duck Salad with juicy watermelon chunks and pieces of warm crispy five-spiced duck and the Chicken Bourguignon with beautifully crispy skin, creamed potato, chestnut mushrooms and bacon lardons. The menu and the setting here is idea for Valentine’s Day!

StreetXO is Mayfair’s most exciting addition to the London food scene. With its quirky decor and vibrant atmosphere, Chef Dabiz Muñoz delivers haute-cuisine “avant-garde”, creating a revolution to fine dining.

The restaurant is made up of several levels, with the main dining area located down a golden staircase, leading into a dimly lit large basement room. This large space is lined with black and red lacquer, attractive neon lighting and an impressive open kitchen.

The staff here are superb so go with their recommendations on the food and pair with the exquisite cocktails they have on offer. Even if your date goes awry, you’re guaranteed to fall in love with the food at StreetXO London!

3. The one with the views - Min Jiang, Kensington

I thought I was aware of all of London’s high rise restaurants, but I was surprised to come across a hidden gem! Min Jiang is located on the top of The Royal Garden Hotel, an independent 5-star hotel, with gorgeous views across Hyde Park.

The focal point of the guest dining experience has been shaped by the restaurant’s world-renowned Beijing Duck. Prepared according to an ancient Chinese recipe over 48 hours by dedicated duck chefs, the dish is glazed with sugar and cooked in a wood-fired oven and made into three delectable dishes. The vast array of tasty dumplings are also worth a try.

This is a beautiful, luxurious setting for a Valentine’s Day meal which will definitely impress your date!

Well renowned Indian restaurant, Indian Accent in Mayfair, is definitely a restaurant to try if your significant other has a penchant for Indian food.

Head chef Chef Manish Mehrotra serves up wonderful modern and imaginative Indian dishes which are inspired by traditional regional dishes. Definitely try the Chicken chilli dabba gosht with baked egg and parantha & kulchas.
The atmosphere is also relaxed and it is a sophisticated venue for a romantic meal.

5. The themed one - The Blues Kitchen, Shoreditch

As soon as you walk into The Blues Kitchen you know you are in for something special. The 1950’s style vibe and decor inspired by the Deep South hits you immediately as you hear the deep soulful music, gaze up at the incredible lighting upcycled from gramophones and admire the murals of iconic Blues players adorning the walls from Blind Willie to Jonie Cobb. The huge bar fits the theme perfectly too and also boasts the largest collection of whiskies in London.

This is a great place to go if you fancy American favourites like Buffalo Wings, Cajun Fried Chicken and a great range of tasty Burgers. I highly recommend the moreish Hot Spinach Dip made with baby spinach, artichokes and ridiculous amounts of cheddar and parmesan.

Whichever restaurant you choose, your loved one is certain to be impressed, the rest is up to you! I hope you have a Valentine's Day to remember.
