Tried & Tested: Gtech Heatwave Patio Heater

Gtech heatwave patio heater review

Standout Features:

  • 6m heat radius

  • Instant heat distribution

  • All weather proof

  • Efficient energy production compared to gas heaters

With longer days on the horizon, more relaxing time in the garden is an absolute must. Unfortunately, brighter evenings can still be chilly and this is where the Gtech Heatwave shines, quite literally! The Heatwave is a weather-proof wall-mounted infrared patio heater that provides light and warmth for those days when you’re not quite ready to retreat indoors.

Functionality:

The Gtech Heatwave has a 6m heat radius and you can adjust the head to suit your set-up.

The heat is instant and it distributes evenly from the 2450k colour temperature bulb. Being an infrared heater, it transfers heat through invisible waves, like the sun.

One of the features I like about the Gtech Heatwave is the fact that it runs at a fraction of the cost of gas heaters, whilst also delivering heat more quickly and efficiently.

Assembly:

I found the Gtech Heatwave very easy to assemble and mount on a wall. I placed mine on the back of a brick wall shed in around half an hour. The light-weight build (1.5KG) means it sits securely and can be kept outside all-year, if desired, due to its IP65 weatherproof design. Alternatively it is also really easy to dismount and pack away if required.

My one concern with the Heatwave is the length of the cable. It could definitely do with being longer and I have to use an extension cord to ensure it fits where I wanted it too. I think a longer cable would be the icing on the cake but an extension cable does the job just as well.

Cost:

Compared to the other outdoor heaters, the Gtech Heatwave is great value for money at £149.99 and is more energy efficient than gas patio heaters that can also take up a lot of floor space. The light and portable nature of the Heatwave also make it very desirable.

The Verdict:

Overall the Heatwave is a great addition to any compact outdoor space. It’s unobtrusive nature and even 6m heating radius if perfect for patios and outdoor seating areas.

If you want to make the most of those longer evenings, I would highly recommend the Gtech Heatwave to keep you and your loved ones warm and cosy in the garden.
