Liebherr Integrated Appliances - Review

Liebherr claim that they ‘haven’t completely reinvented the fridge, but almost’ - and this couldn’t be further from the truth.

When you think about the humble fridge, this is a staple kitchen appliance that hasn’t changed very much over the decades. The addition of an ice maker, locking doors and LED displays is as far as fridge innovation has gone. However, Liebherr’s new Integrated Appliance range has just taken the idea of the fridge and shaken it up.

I recently attended the virtual launch of their new range and was absolutely amazed with their new offering. Liebherr’s new fully integrated refrigerator appliances move away from the idea of one appliance placed in the corner of the kitchen. Instead, their integrated appliances are elegantly and conveniently situated wherever you’d like them to be.

As well as stunning design, Liebherr upgraded their functionality and have taken inspiration from the nurturing mists that cover California’s Salinas Valley vineyards to cut food waste and naturally keep fruit and vegetables in pristine condition.

Through the use of technological innovation they have managed to deliver outstanding energy efficiency, minimal noise levels and intelligent design features for their next generation refrigerators and freezers. Yet they have put the customer at the centre of it all, constantly striving to be efficient, innovative and contemporary.

Their new range includes four scales which harvest different customer needs and budgets. Starting with Pure, Plus, Prime and ending with Peak, all new models are full of smart features and are all of the highest quality.

Some of the innovative key features I love the sound of include:

HydroBreeze

The new HydroBreeze function means that each time the door is opened, the fruit and vegetables in the BioFresh safe are covered with a fresh, cold mist that spreads over the produce like a protective balm. This gentle layer of moisture, combined with a temperature of just above 0 °C, increases the surface tension and preserves the structure of the food. This not only increases the shelf-life of the food, but also goes a long way towards reducing food waste.

This is ideal for foodies like me, who often have a vast array of fresh ingredients available for testing and trying new recipes and need it to stay a few extra days in the fridge before working through it all. It’s also perfect for those who buy their produce in bulk, as it can keep it fresher for much longer.

DuoCooling

Included in all fridge-freezers, DuoCooling is the result of two completely separate refrigeration circuits, which ensures that there is no exchange of air between the fridge and freezer compartments. This means that odour from food is not transferred and the food isn’t at risk of drying out.

IceMaker

Lieberr’s ice maker is unlike any normal ice maker. It produces up to 130 ice cubes a day, which is more than enough for daily usage as well as large gatherings when cold drinks are in high demand. Being a fan of iced lattes myself, this is definitely something I could benefit from on a daily basis.

InfinitySpring

Another innovation in the fully integrated appliances is the InfinitySpring, a water fountain in the fridge that provides filtered cold water at all times, reducing the need and cost of buying filtered water. No need to add bottled water to the shopping list anymore.

LightTower

The energy efficient LightTower lighting concept is integrated into shelving to evenly light appliance interiors, conveniently allowing you to see even the forgotten foods that have been pushed to the back of the fridge.

SmartDeviceBox

Our phones have helped to make our lives more convenient and easy, and these appliances are no different. The new fully integrated appliances are ‘smart’ with all models either network-ready or connectable to a WiFi network later via a SmartDeviceBox. As a result you can use the Liebherr SmartDevice app to integrate their refrigerator quickly and conveniently into an existing smart home environment through a device like Amazon’s Alexa. It also means that you can alter the temperature of your fridge to the ideal setting for the food you're about to bring home, whether that's a delicious freshly-made birthday cake, fresh fruit or a charcuterie platter.

Thanks to the multitude of new and enhanced features the fully integrated appliances from Liebherr are true all-rounders that not only reliably keep food fresh, but also offer more convenience in everyday life. At the same time they tick the boxes when it comes to economical and sustainable standards.
