My foodie highlights from Nha Trang, Vietnam: The Best Restaurants, Bars & Cafes
My Favourite Restaurants, Bars & Cafes in Nha Trang
When I arrived in Nha Trang after a quick 1 hour flight from Hanoi, I wasn't expecting too much variety in the dining scene. However I was astounded and impressed by the number of great restaurants and cafes using quality ingredients to produce delicious food in Nha Trang.
Here are my 8 favourite restaurants and bars in Nha Trang, Vietnam:
La Velvet, Nha Trang
This was probably one of my favourite meals in Nha Trang, as although La Velvet is wholly inconspicuous and located on top of a standard convenience store, the food served here is exemplary.
The menu is a fusion of Eastern European dishes, due to the owners background, and local ingredients, resulting is some stunning dishes including Salmon with Passion Fruit Sauce and Ostrich with Red Wine Sauce.
The restaurant itself is small and cosy, with the best tables located by the open front windows with a view out on the street. The kitchen is also open plan and situated in full view of the diners. It is incredible the dishes that are cooked up here in a small and almost domestic kitchen!

Alpaca Homestyle Cafe, Nha Trang
Alpaca Homestyle Cafe is a charming and inviting space with an outside area filled with leafy green plants and white-painted wicker furniture. Everything about this restaurant screams cute, whether its the menu presented in a little box with images, or the colourful dishes presented on beautiful crockery.
For a homely meal away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront, Alpaca is the perfect place.
Mix, Nha Trang
Serving authentic Greek food just by the beach, Mix restaurant gets very busy very quickly and for good reason! The food here is delicious and harks back to the owner’s Greek roots.
With a Vietcong inspired layout, this casual restaurant with an open, bustling kitchen is great for a quick lunch or dinner that will most certainly fill you up.
Sailing Club Nha Trang
Sailing Club is located right on the beach and offers everything you could want from a venue. Whether you are looking for a lazy lunch by the sea, luxurious dinner prepared by distinguished chefs, or a fun night drinking and dancing in a classy club, Sailing Club offers it all.
The food served here ranges from Vietnamese, European, American and even Indian. The location of Sailing Club is perfect for visiting whilst in Nha Trang and I would recommend visiting at least once during your time here.
Skylight, Nha Trang
Skylight is one of those places you could spend an entire afternoon and evening. The highlight is the 360 degree Skydeck, the first such attraction in Nha Trang, where guests can admire the coastline and city and even mountain region!
Skylight also houses a beautiful modern restaurant serving European and American dishes with the same stunning views. Located on the rooftop is a bar, lounge and club area, where live music and events are held.
There are a few other rooftop bars which offer a similar view located on the coastline in Nha Trang, however Skylight has the most to offer and I’d recommend a visit for the views and the food!
Lanterns Restaurant, Nha Trang
Lanterns is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Nha Trang, serving the best authentic local dishes on a second floor open mezzanine filled with beautiful lanterns.
The menu here is extensive so I always ask for recommendations from the friendly staff, especially as you can order a few different dishes on a sharing basis.
Lanterns also contributes significantly to the local community, providing food and funds for local schools and orphanages in Nha Trang, as well as working alongside ethnic minorities in the villages.
Livin Collective
Livin Collective is the hippest destination in Nha Trang. Formed of a shop selling the cutest locally produced crafts, various classes in their event space, a gallery for emerging Vietnamese artists, a co-working space and of course the best barbecue restaurant in Nha Trang.
The menu here focuses on premium barbecued meat, which is prepared on their massive grills right in front of the diners. They also have a range of beers to try out with the food.
Rainforest Cafe, Nha Trang
Rainforest Cafe is one of the quirkiest cafes I’ve ever visited. Made to look like an actual rainforest, there are a host of nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy your coffee, including secluded towers past circling stairs and lush green foliage, as well as wooden slides, nets to play on and of course swings!
The cafe serves up a range of amazing coffees, as well as healthy orangic food and drink.
Which of these restaurants, bars and cafes would you love to try?
