With so much uncertainty and disruption in all our lives right now, this is a time to celebrate the little wins in life, and there’s no better way than treating yourself!
Although we can’t go out with restaurants or bars, we can still indulge at home and at the same time help our small business too. Each purchase will keep our small businesses running and allow us some ‘guilt-free indulging’ too!

Best for Afternoon Tea: Bettys Hampers
Bettys is an institution in the Dales with a host of must-visit tea rooms, including my favourite one in York. As we won’t be dining in for a while, Bettys’ hampers are a perfect pick-me-up which can be delivered straight to your door.
They offer a range of hampers including tea time favourites, decadent fondant fancies, beautiful macaroons and their famous fat rascals, scones made with a gooey centre.

The beautiful seaside town of Ilfracombe in North Devon is home to the Chocolate Emporium, where Jeanette and her team make a range of wonderful handcrafted chocolates including chocolate bars and slabs, fudges and gift boxes too.
The wonderful range of flavours include classics such as caramel, coffee and rose, as well as modern twists such as liquorice and chilli. Their range also include gluten free, dairy free, vegan suitable, and even have a No Added Sugar range too!
The Ilfracombe Chocolate Emporium have been delivering their chocolates across the country for a while and now is the perfect time to make the most of it.
Best for Nuts: Crackling Nuts
Crackling Nuts are hand-roasted nuts available in a variety of delicious flavours. Made in Devon but inspired by a 200 year old German recipe and with an added modern twist. The flavours range from savoury cracking salty mix and sweet cinnamon and vanilla roasted cashews, which has been awarded 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards!
All flavours are made with natural ingredients and are gluten free and, where possible, fair trade and organic. My favourite way to enjoy these more-ish nuts are as a pre-dinner aperitif, or just as a snack during the day!
